Charts and Tables

Turning a table into a chart is rarely stuck on drawing the chart. It is stuck on the format conversion.

This page holds two adjacent tools that do not overlap. Excel to Chart answers "I already have numbers in a table, I want an image I can paste somewhere". Table to Markdown answers "the table lives elsewhere, I want it inside a Markdown document".

Excel to Chart accepts .xlsx, .xls and .csv, with a 2 MB per-file limit. It provides line and pie charts, previews in the page first, and only then lets you download as an image. Date columns are detected automatically and converted to a time series before plotting, so a trend chart does not need a cleaning pass beforehand.

Before choosing a chart type, look at the shape of the data: use a line for comparing two or more series, and a pie for proportions. The tool does not decide which is appropriate for you — that judgement comes from looking at the numbers. It only draws what you pick.

On table width: if you need a table inside a rich-text article, read the Markdown tables guide first — table support is limited and narrow viewports tend to break the layout.
